VINYLS
Production Process
From master cutting to packaging
Vinyl records are analogue sound carriers made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) granules. Our offer includes a full range of vinyl records in various sizes and styles. We press records in 140g and 180g formats, available in 12-inch, 10-inch, and 7-inch sizes (commonly used for singles and maxi-singles).

1. PRE-MASTERING
Vinyl pre-mastering is the process of preparing audio material before pressing, taking into account the specific limitations of this format. This stage includes frequency adjustments, distortion reduction, and stereo balance optimisation to ensure the highest possible sound quality.

2. Cutting
Following pre-mastering, the next step is cutting, where the master disc is created – the foundation for vinyl pressing. We offer two cutting methods:
- Acetate – grooves are cut into a lacquer-coated disc,
- DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) – grooves are cut directly into a metal surface.
The choice of method depends on the preferred sound characteristics and the nature of the recording. This stage is crucial, as it significantly impacts the final audio quality of the vinyl records.

3. ELECTROPLATING
After cutting, the next step is electroplating, which involves applying layers of nickel to the master disc’s surface.
- In DMM, the metal surface is cleaned, and a nickel master (or “positive”) is created immediately.
- In Acetate, an additional silver-coating process is required before creating the metal stamper.
Acetate masters are more delicate and require special handling. The electroplating process produces a negative, which is then used for pressing vinyl records.

4. TEST PRESSING
We offer test pressings, allowing record labels and artists to evaluate the audio quality and overall pressing standards before full-scale production. If the test pressing does not meet expectations, we work closely with our clients to identify and correct any issues, ensuring the best possible final result.

5. PACKAGING & PRINTING
Before pressing begins, all packaging and artwork must be approved by the client. This includes vinyl labels, graphics for picture discs, sleeves, gatefolds, and custom packaging.
We also offer a wide range of extras, including posters, inserts, booklets, stickers, obi-strips, and more to enhance the final product. Our team ensures that packaging is not only functional but also aesthetically striking, with high-quality finishing options such as embossing, spot varnish, lamination, and hot-stamping.

6. PRESSING
Vinyl records are pressed on both manual and automatic presses, depending on the project’s specifications and batch size.
- Manual presses allow for creative effects and are ideal for limited-edition releases.
- Automatic presses are best for large-scale production, ensuring efficiency and consistent quality.
In both cases, precise temperature and pressure control is essential for high-fidelity sound and durable records. Our expertise and advanced equipment guarantee excellent results, whether for small or large pressings.

7. QUALITY CONTROL
Every vinyl record undergoes a rigorous quality control process. We conduct audio testing, visual inspections, and packaging checks to ensure you receive a flawless product with exceptional sound and presentation.
